You hate dieting but you need to lose weight. We’re going to take a different approach.
The biggest reason we eat the way we eat is habits we’ve developed. These habits are acquired either as children by our parents or as adults out of convenience. Waiting for you after a long day at school was milk and cookies. Just a few before dinner won’t hurt. Here is where one of the top dieting mistakes began.
Finish your dinner or you won’t get dessert. The snack before bed was usually cake. Does this sound like your childhood?
The only way we would eat the vegetables was if they were drowned in butter. That’s what she had to do to get us to eat the healthy foods. We would even put butter on our hamburgers. The salt shaker sat next to the bowl of fruit.
All Grown Up
Now when you come home from work, what do you do? Without even thinking you grab the pizza in the fridge from last night. Pizza in moderation is fine. You know that pizza is just to tide you over till dinner.
If you write down everything you eat in a day, you’ll notice what you eat out of habit and you can make some changes. It won’t take long to figure out what isn’t necessary.
Now What?
What else can we look at. Drinking plenty of water is important no matter what. You drink plenty of pop each day, that should count for something. Do you drink those high calorie coffee drinks each morning? You’re convinced you need those to get going each day. This needs to be changed.
What’s another top dieting mistake? Lack of exercise. Since I was athletic when I was younger, how I ate was no big deal. When I got older, I wasn’t as active.
When I moved out of my childhood home, I kept my childhood eating habits. I think we all are like that. It makes no difference why. Now we can work on changing it.
Here’s the diet plan that worked for me. Any of the diets out there can work. The reason they don’t is because of the restrictions. With this plan, we can begin to change how we eat.
